About New Chapter Coaching & Consulting®

Building sustainable, high-impact systems for secondary schools serving newcomer and multilingual learners.

We believe that secondary education is at its strongest when language development, instructional clarity, and a profound sense of belonging intersect.

At New Chapter Coaching & Consulting®, we partner with forward-thinking secondary schools to build resilient instructional systems. We don’t just offer professional development; we provide a strategic partnership designed to:

  • Empower MLL/ESL/ENL/ELA and Bilingual Specialists as the leaders of student success.

  • Honor and Protect Teacher Capacity through manageable, high-impact strategies.

  • Advance Academic Opportunities for newcomer and refugee MLL populations by increasing student belonging to increase engagement.

Our name reflects our mission: to help schools and students move past the challenges of the past and begin a New Chapter defined by achievement, equity, and belonging.

"Education thrives when language development and student belonging are the heartbeat of the school system. We don’t just add initiatives; we strengthen the educators and structures that make genuine newcomer integration a reality."

The Bridge Between Academic Research and Lived Experience

With over sixteen years of cross-continental experience across K–12 schools, higher education, and refugee-serving organizations, my mission is clear: To move schools from well-intentioned support to structured, sustainable systems where Multilingual Learners (MLLs) thrive.

My approach to district consulting is distinct because it is rooted in my own trajectory. Growing up in Türkiye, I learned early on that equitable access to education changes lives. As a multilingual educator with personal roots in international and forced migration who navigated French and English as my second languages, my commitment to underserved and diverse newcomer and refugee MLL youth is more than professional—it is my life’s work.

The Expertise Behind the Partnership

  • Academic Rigor & Teacher Education: I hold a Ph.D. in Teacher Education and Teacher Development and an M.A. in Teaching and Learning. My work extends into higher education, where I served as a Teacher Educator, mentoring teacher candidates to enter the field with the specialized tools needed for multilingual success.

  • University-Level Partnerships: I collaborate with leading universities to bridge the gap between academic research and classroom reality. These partnerships ensure that the instructional frameworks we provide are both peer-reviewed and practically applicable in today’s diverse schools.

  • Holistic Newcomer Advocacy: Beyond the classroom, I have worked and now partner with refugee resettlement agencies to design and lead training for language educators. This work provides a 360-degree understanding of the newcomer and refugee student experience.

  • Global Fieldwork: My career began with foundational teacher education in Türkiye and expanded through fieldwork in Senegal, where I developed instructional frameworks for secondary students across diverse native languages. This global foundation was furthered in the United States, where my roles in higher education, refugee resettlement, and K–12 research allowed me to bridge the gap between theory and frontline practice. This international journey deeply informs the 'Global Best Practices' I bring to multilingual education today.

  • Executive Precision: To provide the highest tier of support to district leaders, I am currently in an intensive Leadership and Performance Coaching program through an ICF-accredited institution (Coach Academy). This training allows me to bring an executive-level lens to district leadership, helping administrators navigate the systemic shifts required for sustainable success.

My Journey & Instructional Philosophy

My work is shaped by a central belief: Belonging is foundational to language development, and educators need sustainable systems that make that belonging possible. In our partnerships with secondary schools and agencies, this philosophy is reflected through four core pillars:

  1. Structured, Side-by-Side Collaboration. We move beyond disconnected professional development. Our work is grounded in real classroom observation, reflective coaching, and practical instructional shifts aligned with your school's unique priorities.

  2. Asset-Based Multilingual Perspectives. We view language diversity as a profound strength. We design instruction that builds on a newcomer's identity and linguistic resources rather than treating them as a deficit to be fixed.

  3. Sustainable Educator Support. Burned-out teachers cannot foster belonging. We focus on manageable, high-impact changes that protect teacher capacity, reduce caseload overwhelm, and support long-term instructional clarity.

  4. Equitable Instructional Systems. We bridge the gap between human connection and academic compliance, connecting daily classroom practices with broader district goals (like Title III and ESSA targets).

Grounded in Premier Research
