Free Professional Development Resource: "Welcoming Afghan Families to Schools"

This course was produced by Rutgers University and the New Jersey Office for Refugees (NJOR). I had the opportunity to contribute as part of my role as Education Programs Manager at NJOR. The course explores Afghanistan’s history, cultures, and languages and provides practical strategies for welcoming and supporting Afghan families resettled in the U.S. This free module is open to all educators, school staff, and anyone working with newcomer families.

Free Professional Development Resource: "Healing Classrooms for Students Affected by Forced Migration (Classroom Management)"

This course was produced by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and the New Jersey Office for Refugees (NJOR). I had the opportunity to contribute to content development as part of my role as Education Programs Manager at NJOR and also served as the video facilitator. The course supports educators in applying the Healing Classrooms approach to create safe, supportive, and trauma-informed learning environments. This free resource is open to all teachers and school staff working with students affected by forced migration and resettlement.
